Volleyball Recap-

Howe Sound Secondary’s volleyball season has come to an end. The team surpassed many hurdles and achieved many successes. What have athletes learned from this season so far, and what advice do they have for future players?

Joy Lee, captain of the Senior girls team, and Kristian Manapat, captain of the Senior boys team shared their perspectives on these questions. Joy is very proud of the team’s perseverance acknowledging that this ”year's attitude stood out, which makes it hard to say goodbye.” Kristian was eager to play more, but is happy to pass “the torch to the juniors” and reminds them ”to have no regrets, never be ashamed of how you [play].” They both felt proud of how well the teams worked together.

As a farewell, the athletes held a Senior night where they had a last unofficial game of girls versus boys. The volleyball community here at Howe Sound will remember them as role models, and wish them good luck in their future pursuits in volleyball.

Future of Basketball

The long-awaited Howe Sound Secondary basketball season is starting ! With all the hard work of tryouts and practice, what will the future of basketball look like this season? Arjun Toor shares his thoughts about the future of basketball and has some powerful predictions for this season of basketball. “This season I want to see us compete. When we go up against tougher teams, I want to see our guys not back down from those challenges and put up a good fight. I think we should work on our relationships with one another. I feel like bonding with each other on and off the court will help us win games by playing better as a team. I think that is something the Senior team had last year that can greatly improve our team this year. A bad game or bad performance shouldn’t affect our relationships with each other and how we do in school.” This year’s basketball season will be filled with the fires of passion and roars of strength. Don't miss the excitement, plan to watch the games and support the HSS teams.  Let’s go Sounders!
